Following a discussion with the Pirelli tyre technicians at
Time Attack, they have recommended a different profile tyre to test on the Z4M
for track use. Previously on the rear we had the OEM aspect ratio of 40 i.e 265/40 R18, the
new one is 265/35 R18 both a Pirelli Trofeo R.
Before they felt a bit loose until they got to temperature
then soon were over pressured as we had to run them a bit harder to compensate for
the movement. Wow what a difference, they felt stable from the start and then
came nicely to pressure and stayed consistent for several fast laps. When I say
consistent I mean we did three fast laps all within 0.035s.
