For those of you that are used to a bit of ‘Heal and Toe’
action when changing down the gears unfortunately the standard pedal layout in
the Z4M is too wide apart to easily reach the accelerator with the side of your
foot. So some modifications were necessary to make it just right for the track.
I basically bolted a piece of wood around 10mm closer to the
brake pedal to the accelerator pedal (which was Vinyl wrapped in black first),
then fitted some aftermarket petals that were a bit wider to get the pedal
distances just right. This lifted the accelerator pedal to the correct height too..
I tested it a Oulton Park recently and it was spot on, which
is more than I can say for the OEM brakes, but that’s another story..
